Are Waerland was a charismatic health pioneer in Scandinavia, UK and Germany. He advocated physical fitness, natural food, outdoor exercise; not only for a better life but also as the best treatment of diseases. He campaigned tirelessly against processed foods, smoking and alcohol. He even inspired many physicians. In Sweden there still exists an association of physicians directed to complementary medicine which started due to Waerlands thinkings. The scan was provided by Lars Hedström.
